Mechanical Traction
Mechanical traction is a physical therapy modality used to alleviate pain and improve mobility in patients with spinal conditions such as herniated discs, sciatica, and spinal stenosis. It involves using a traction table or device to gently stretch the spine and decompress the affected area. The pulling force created by the mechanical traction helps to reduce pressure on the spinal discs, relieve nerve compression, and improve blood flow to the affected area. Mechanical traction can be used as a standalone treatment or in combination with other physical therapy modalities.
